James D. Myers, 85, of Goshen died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born November 13, 1933 in LaGrange County to Donald and Edna (Woods) Myers.
On May 28, 1955 he married Peggy J. Weirick in Elkhart.
She survives along with two daughters, Maria (Chris) Fendt of Elkhart and Tricia (Daniel) Oswald of Goshen; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven step-great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Wyman.
James was a 1953 graduate of Dearborn High School, Michigan and was a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren, where he ushered for 30 years.
Mr. Myers was an industrial electrician, working for the Bayer and Miles Laboratories for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Friends may call Friday, March 22, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 23, 2019. Pastor Bev Weaver, Goshen City Church of the Brethren, will officiate.
Burial will follow at Osborn Cemetery, near LaGrange, where four generations of family are buried.
