James H. Miller, 77, of Goshen, died Thursday morning, March 20, 2014 at home. He was born February 25, 1937 in Goshen, to Harold Blough Miller and Alice Margaret (Gangwer) Swanson. On August 27, 1953 he married Shirley Ann Burkholder in Raton, New Mexico. She survives along with two daughters, Vicki Ann Miller and Cynthia Jean Spaulding; four sons, Douglas Jay (Melanie), Martin Christopher and Curtiss James, all of Goshen, and Dennis Ryan (Carol), Minier, Ill.; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons, Mitchell Craig and Bryan Kent.; daughter, Terri Lynn Stanfill; grandson, Patrick Wayne Stanfill; granddaughter, Courtney Leeann Miller; sister, Peggy Alice Cook and two brothers, Lee Allen and Thomas Franklin. Mr. Miller worked in various R.V. companies as an electrician. He also worked in construction and at Syndicate Store Fixtures. Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service, Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Knight will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
