James "Corky" Mcbride

James “Corky” McBride, 48, of New Paris, died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.  He had been ill the past three months. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on November 29, 1962, to the late Bud Roland and M. Ann (Jackson) McBride. He married Cheryl Christner on May 11, 1991 in Bristol.  She survives. Also surviving are two children, Mariah Dawn and Dakota James McBride, both at home; eight sisters, Sue Dotson of North Carolina, Betty (Jim) Hampton of Milford, LaRue (Terry) Hamilton of West Virginia, Kathy (Brian) LaBonte of Michigan, Brenda (Greg) Cloutier of Detroit, Michigan, Debbie McBride of Michigan, and Patty (Dean) Miller and Sarah (Jim) Southern, both of Syracuse; and four brothers, Michael (Janet) McBride of Detroit, Michigan, Bill (Sylvia) McBride of Milford, Larry McBride of Cromwell, and Jerry (Susan) McBride of New Paris. A longtime New Paris resident, Mr. McBride was a member of Grace Community Church where he served as a deacon. He worked as a group leader at Supreme. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 23,at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and from 9 to 10 a.m., Thursday at the church. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011, funeral service will be held at Grace Community Church with Pastor Jim Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be to Grace Community Church for The Water Project or to an education fund for Corky’s children.
