James Russell Lemarr, Sr.

James Russell Lemarr, Sr., 83, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, at home.

He was born April 13, 1938, in Westbourne, Tennessee, to Hebe Virgil and Maude (Carr) Lemarr.

Mr. Lemarr is survived by five children, James (April O’Dell) Lemarr, Jr. of Millersburg, Virgil Lemarr of Cincinnati, Ohio, Crystal (Mark) Lantz of South Bend, Cathy Markham of Goshen and Debbie (Randy) Mishler of White Pigeon, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Cecil, Carl, John, Bob, Roy, Jesse, Mary and Lucy Lemarr and his former wife, Joyce Lemarr, Goshen.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harrison and Edgar “Fuzzy” Lemarr.

A longtime Goshen resident, Mr. Lemarr retired from Schult Homes after more than 36 years of service.  A John Wayne fan, he enjoyed working on cars as a hobby, tinkering in the garden, collecting clocks and knives.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 11 to 1 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  A 1 p.m. memorial service will be conducted with son-in-law Mark Lantz officiating.

Memorial donations may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society or The Depot.
