James D. Huff

James D. Huff, 79, of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully at his home May 2, 2018.

Born March 31, 1939 in Goshen, Indiana, to Jane (Leek) and Roscoe Huff, he grew up there with his big sister Sue (Huff) Netzen and many beloved cousins.

Jim graduated from Goshen High School in 1957, and married Jeanette (Berry) Hess in 1960. He served as a U.S. Artilleryman stationed in Korea before following several members of his extended family into the newspaper printing business. He worked for many years at the Goshen News. Jim retired from the Rocky Mountain News in Denver after moving to Colorado as a sales manager for Carefree of Colorado.

He loved his old brick apartment building near downtown Denver, which he managed in retirement for nearly twenty years. He loved to read almost as much as he loved old cars, and if he had a cup of coffee to drink while he read a book about old cars (which he almost always did) he probably felt like he was in heaven already.

Jim is survived by his adult children Brad (Kristin) Huff, Beth Dunderman and former wife Jeanette (Berry) Hess, as well as three grandchildren, four nieces and several of his beloved cousins.

A memorial gathering will take place Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. with an informal service at 12, noon, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
