James August Howard

James August Howard, 75, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Goshen Hospital.

He was born January 10, 1947, in Wolf Lake to Donald and Rosalie Howard.

On July 198, 1970, he married Goldie Callihan in Goshen.

She survives along with three children, Donald (Crystal) Howard of Union, Michigan, and Jennifer Howard and Tonja Rienks, both of Elkhart; seven grandchildren and three siblings, Michael (Beth) Howard of Goshen and Lois Howard and Connie Howard, both of Florida.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, R.J. Rienks.

Jim loved to spend time with his family, fish and bowl and repair lawn mowers.  He retired from Keystone RV.

Jim served with the US Air Force from 1965-1968 as a jet engine mechanic.

Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, followed by a 6 p.m. memorial service. Rev. Terry J. Tyler will officiate.
