James Hekel

James Hekel, 71, of Goshen, died Thursday, January 9, 2014, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital. He was born June 20, 1942 in Waterloo, Iowa to Gordon and Alta (Stafford) Hekel. He is survived by his father, Gordon Hekel, of Waterloo, Iowa; children, Debbie (Scott) MacKenzie, of Phoenix, Arizona, Cathy (Mike) Husmann, of Center Point, Iowa, Karrie Hekel, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Laurie Hekel, of Mobile, Alabama, Michelle Hekel, of Waterloo, Iowa, and Steve (Raquel) Hekel, of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren; and a brother, William (Beverly) Hekel, of Indianola, Iowa. A retired business owner, Mr. Hekel graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1960. Graveside services will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
