James “Jim” Hanson, 70, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.
He was born Feb. 24, 1952 in Elkhart to Lloyd and Mary (Tribble) Hanson.
On March 11, 1972, he married Debra Sue Rensberger. She died July 7, 2018.
Jim is survived by two sisters, Diane (Charles) Lacefield, Port Charlotte, Florida, and Susan (Joseph) Chupp, Elkhart; and a brother-in-law, Charles Youngman, Elkhart.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Youngman.
Jim was fascinated by the fact that he was born in ’52, married Deb in ’72 and died in ’22. A passionate man with a great sense of humor, he was a history buff, and enjoyed reading and vacationing with Deb.
He retired as a Supervisor from NIBCO where he had worked for 35 years.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Friend, Pat Martin will officiate.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or Traditions Hospice.
