James “Jim” H. Hunter, 80, of Goshen, passed away Saturday evening, April 23, 2016, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital.
One of 15 children, he was born November 11, 1935 in Champaign, Illinois to Frank and Evelena Hunter.
On June 9, 1961 he married Loma Gray in Rantoul, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years; four sons, James “Jimmy” Hunter, Jr. of Goshen, Gene (Deb) Hunter of Elkhart and Ronnie Hunter and Shannon (Carrie) Hunter, both of Goshen; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Hunter of Rantoul, Illinois and Jack Hunter of Radcliff, Kentucky and four sister, Anna Taylor, Geneva Mees and Joann Escritt, all of Rantoul and Judy Rickets of Thomasboro, Illinois.
Mr. Hunter served with the U.S. Air Force at Keeler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Mississippi and then with the Reserves from 1954-1962. Mr. Hunter retired from Anderson-Bolin.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and fishing, especially at the Goshen Dam.
Friends may call Friday, April 29, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Cremation will follow at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
