James R. Guipe

December 22, 1947 — January 7, 2016

James R. Guipe, 68, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Courtyard Healthcare where he had been since his stroke on December 2.

He was born December 22, 1947 in Goshen to Henry F. and Erma (Fidler) Guipe.

On February 18, 1967 he married Stephanie Bergman in Goshen. She died September 5, 1998.

Jim is survived by two children, Deborah Miller and Stephen (Michelle) Guipe, both of Goshen; three grandchildren, Hank, Sam and Eve; and four brothers, David (Linda) Guipe of Pinehurst, North Carolina, John “Jack” (Sue) Guipe of Goshen, Richard (Carolyn) Guipe of Indianapolis and Thomas (Melissa) Guipe of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

A lifetime area resident, Jim graduated from Goshen High School in 1966. A former member of Maplecrest Country Club, he enjoyed golfing. He was an avid reader and a great cook.

Friends may call Tuesday, January 12, 2016, from 10 a.m. until the 12, noon, funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
