James F. Myers

James F. Myers, 89, of Goshen died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at his home.

He was born March 14, 1928 in Goshen to Forrest and Evelyn (Moody) Myers.

On June 12, 1948 he married Jacqueline Rhude in Goshen.

She survives along with three children, David (Liz) Myers and Marlene Sue (Jere) Bigler, both of Goshen, and Marchia L. (Calvin) Berkey of Sarasota, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Kitson of Sutherlin, Oregon; and a brother, Ned (Linda) Myers of Goshen.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by grandchildren, Jessica Myers, Alex Gonzalez, and Jacob Myers; brothers, George and Don Myers; and sisters, Edith Hartzler, Dorothy Comstock, and Virginia Heerschop.

A United States Navy veteran, James was a Goshen High School graduate and worked at Western Rubber Company for more than 30 years before retiring as a foreman.  Following his retirement, he owned and operated Hillside Nursery.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Goshen and was currently attending Sugar Grove Church, Goshen.

Friends may call Monday, March 5, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sugar Grove Church, 58512 Old CR 17, Goshen, and Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 10 to the 11 a.m. funeral service at the church. Rev. Tony Tice, Sugar Grove Church, and retired minister, Rev. Louis Showers will officiate.

Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen.
