James L. Egolf

James L. Egolf, 79, of Goshen died Wednesday afternoon, March 30, 2016 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born February 15, 1937 in Elkhart to Spurgeon and Mildred (Fisher) Egolf.

On March 30, 1957 he married Helen Sellers in Wichita, Kansas.  She died March 10, 2010. He married Gwendolyn L. (Cripe) Miller on January 10, 1981 in Elkhart.  She died July 17, 2001.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Jim) Hamel and a son, Richard Egolf, both of Elkhart; three granddaughters; and five great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Egolf.

Mr. Egolf worked as a tool and die maker at Conn-Selmers and Elkhart Tool & Die.  He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge in Elkhart, where he was a past governor from 1971-1972.  He worked on the design committee when the new Moose Lodge was built in 1975.  He was also a member of the DAV and American Legion.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery.  Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis.
