James Edward Collins, 74, of Milford, died early Tuesday morning, April 14, 2009, at Lakeland Loving Care where he had been the past week and a half. He was born in Blytheville, Arkansas, on July 29, 1934, to Elmer and Mary (Barnes) Collins. He married Jacqueline Souder on January 17, 1969 in Missouri. She survives. Mr. Collins moved to the Goshen area in 1954 and worked in the mixing department at Western Rubber for 28 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of URW Local 30 (United Rubber Workers) and a 45 year member and past president of the Goshen Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; a daughter, Pamela (George) Gama of Goshen; two sons, James Edward Collins, Jr. of Goshen and Garry Lee (Renee) Collins of Elkhart; two step-children, Walter (Regina) Brown of St. Charles, Missouri, and Deborah (Bruce) Gordon of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a step-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Ann Collins; a brother, Wesley Collins in 2004; and three sisters, Elsie Hinklin, Opal Hinklin, and Margaret Jones. Friends may call 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, April 17, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 2:00 p.m., funeral service will be conducted. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery, Milford, Indiana.
