James "Mike" Michael Cain, 68, of Goshen, died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, February 8, 2012, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born January 8 1944 in Indianapolis to Adam Quincey and Mary Francis (Cunningham) Cain. He married Evelyn Austin January 29, 1965 in Great Falls, Montana. She survives along with two sons, Thomas (Tamara) Cain of Goshen and Rick Cain; two grandchildren, Austin and Ainsley Cain; and a half brother, David Woodcock, Chicago, Illinois. He graduated in 1962 from Lakeland Senior High School where he lettered in football. He went on to get a bachelors degree in business from the University of Maryland. He served four years in the US Air Force and was awarded meritorious service for above and beyond the call of duty after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He was a member of the Lakeland Southland Lodge #256 where he was a past master. He was also a Shriner and in the Scottish Rite. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Cremation will follow visitation and there will be a private family service.
