Jake Kowalenko, 74, of New Paris, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at home.

He was born November 28, 1949 in Ulm, Germany to Jakob Kowalenko and Justina (Johnson) Dyck.

On February 14, 1987, he married Susan Leslie Orange in Elkhart. She died June 21, 2017.

Survivors include two sons, Jonn (Colleen) Kowalenko of Buies Creek, North Carolina and Jarel (Bambi) Kowalenko of New Paris; a step-daughter, Michelle (Can) McGuire Patterson of Forsyth, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Cooper, Andrew, Ben, Nicki, Annie and Bella; four great-grandchildren, Aubree, Devon, Everleigh and Ryder; and three siblings, Rose Roberts of New Paris, Kathy Wilde of Potter County, Pennsylvania and Pete (Elsie) Kowalenko of Quakertown, Pennsylvania.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Jake retired from Keystone and enjoyed casinos, fishing, football and NASCAR.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
