Jacob E. Showalter, 73, of Millersburg died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at South Bend Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1949 in Goshen to William F. and Phyllis J. (Bollinger) Showalter.
Survivors include a daughter, Nanette (Scott) Galloway of Goshen; a son, Andrew Showalter of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Chad Galloway, Trace (Rain) Harrison, Bryce, Lane and Nate Galloway, Dalton Showalter and Gretchen Showalter; and four great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include his mother, Phyllis Showalter of Millersburg; brothers, Jerry (Ann) Showalter of Millersburg and Jay Showalter of Bloomington; a sister, Janet Showalter of Millersburg; and former wife, Judy (Stutsman) Showalter.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Marcy Showalter and a sister-in-law, Lissa Hunt.
Mr. Showalter was a constant worker, driving trucks for Fidler Concrete and the Keebler Company. He also worked for the Dairy Farmers of America and owned his own tree, grooming and removal business.
Jacob was a member of River Oaks Community Church, the Teamsters, and the Elkhart County Exchange Club.
Visitation will be Monday, March 20, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. also at the funeral home. Pastor Scott Tilley will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
