Jacob B. Gingerich, 88, of Williams, Minnesota, died Sunday afternoon, May 13, 2007, at the home of his daughter, Sharon Classen in Goshen after a two month illness. He was born in Loogootee, Indiana, on February 6, 1919, to William and Lizzie (Wagler) Gingerich. He married Amelia Yoder on December 19, 1943, in Loogootee, Indiana. She survives. A farmer, Mr. Gingerich lived in the area about 40 years, including time in Ligonier from 1959-1969. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Chapel, Stratton, Ontario, Canada. He is survived by his wife, Amelia; five daughters, Elizabeth (Larry) Jones of Bristol, Indiana, Pauline (Leon) Liechty of Lillian, Alabama, Delores Kauffman of Pensacola, Florida, Sharon (Loren) Classen of Goshen and Debra (Ken) Wolfe of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania; two sons, Jacob (Dawn) Gingerich, Jr. of Durango, Colorado, and William (Karla) Gingerich of Bellfontaine, Ohio;; 25 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Lydia (Marian) Kauffman of Middlebury, Indiana; and three brothers, Joe (Edna) Gingerich of West, Texas, Herman (Mary) Gingerich of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, and Bill (Naomi) Gingerich of New Concord, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjean Yutzy; three brothers, George, Clarence, and Johnnie Gingerich; and two sisters, Julia Ann Yoder and Elizabeth Troyer. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2007, funeral service will be held at Maple City Chapel, Goshen. Rev. Gary Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorial contributions may be given to Gideon International.
