Jack R. Senger, 81, of Elkhart and formerly of South Bend, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, at Golden Living Center.
He was born March 6, 1935 in South Bend to Erich E. and Laura (Skodinski) Senger.
He is survived by a son, Jack M. (Julie) Senger of Millersburg; four grandchildren, Jamie Farrell-Senger, Lindsey Senger-Swinehart, and Jarrett and Jenna Senger; and a sister, Lucille.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Don Senger and a sister, Betty Mohn.
A graduate of South Bend Central High School, he served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church, South Bend.
Mr. Senger drove truck for Sunnyside Beverage, United Beverages and Olinger Distributors before retiring in 1990. He was a big fan of Notre Dame football, Indy 500 and NASCAR.
A rosary will be recited Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with visitation to follow from 6 to 8 p.m. A 10 a.m., memorial mass will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Tony Steinacker will officiate.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Elkhart County Down Syndrome Support Group or Boy Scout Troop #12 and may be mailed to 217 Travis Court, Millersburg, IN 46543.
