Jack R. Kupke, 33, of Millersburg, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at home after an October 2019 cancer diagnosis.
He was born October 21, 1986 in Elkhart.
On April 12, 2008, he married Sara Fidler in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
She survives along with four sons, Ethan, Mason, Harrison and Finn; parents. Mike and Jackie (Tobias) Kupke of Goshen; a sister, Hillary (Brandon) Nissley of Goshen; nephews, Isaiah, Cole and Abram; grandparents, Art and Regina Kupke of Winamac and Jack Tobias of Nappanee and extended family. Lance and Wendy Yoder and their children, Maya, Madison, Myles and Max, Goshen, who had a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Fannie Slabaugh; grandmother, Dorothy Tobias and three unborn infants.
Jack was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Goshen, where he sang in the choir, served on the finance committee and portrayed Jesus in the Living Word Production. He had an excellent singing voice, a quick wit, a sense of humor and a strong will that helped him battle cancer, even taking a car ride with his best friend the day before his death. He enjoyed watching his sons and family participate in sports and activities. He had an incredible love for his children and nephews.
Jack loved his work and his colleagues at Century Foam where, since 2007, he was an office manager.
Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2020, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the outdoor pavilion at The Life Center, Plymouth Ave.
An 11 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2020, funeral service, following the COVID-19 guidelines, will be conducted at First United Methodist Church, 5 th Street. Pastors Ed and Brenda Fritz will officiate.
A private burial will follow the service at Violett Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Elkhart County Jail Chaplaincy.
