Jack G. Cripe, 90, of Goshen, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at Greencroft Healthcare.
He was born August 17, 1925 in Goshen to Morris W. and Blanche (Pease) Cripe.
On January 11, 1947 he married Mary Etta Arnold at First Presbyterian Church, Goshen. She died June 21, 2011.
Mr. Cripe is survived by a daughter, Nancy Jane (Bill) Everett of Goshen; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ana) Everett of Carmel, Michael (Ashley) Everett of Plymouth, Minnesota and Angie (Brett) Sutton of Sydney, Australia; five great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Colton, Ethan and Reagan Everett and Rezig Everett Sutton; and a brother, Dr. Jerome (Janis) Cripe of Columbia, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant son, Douglas Earl Cripe and a brother, Samuel Cripe.
A lifelong Goshen resident, Mr. Cripe graduated from Goshen High School in 1943 and served with the US Navy from 1943 to 1946. He graduated from Iowa State with a degree in mechanical engineering and worked in the family owned business, Cripe Lumber in Dunlap. He later worked for NIPSCO for 22 years until retiring in 1990.
He was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church serving as a deacon and an elder. In the late 50’s and early 60’s he served as a Boy Scout leader. He was also a 50 year member of the Goshen Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.
   
    Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be conducted Friday, May 13, 2016 starting at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Goshen.  Pastor Alan Griffin will officiate.
    
    
    Private burial will precede the memorial service.
    
   
  
   
    Memorial contributions may be given to Shriners Hospital for Children or First Presbyterian Church, Goshen.
