J. Daniel Cregier, 69, of Goshen, died Friday morning at IU Health Goshen Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 19, 1943, in Goshen, to Joseph G. and Harriet L. (Miller) Cregier. On June 24, 1972, in Clinton, Md., he married Carolyn Stone. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter; Anita L.(Gary Markley) Albaugh, of Elkhart, a son; Mark W. (Ginger) Cregier, of Syracuse, four grandchildren; David Albaugh, Jennifer Cornelius, Amanda Cregier, and Heather Cregier, six great-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren, two sisters; Nancy L. (Bob) Staigmiller, of Absarokee, Mont., Janice A. Caton, of Goshen, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A resident of Goshen, and Westler Lake, Wolcottville, he spent 1964-1968 in the U.S. Air Force; he then worked for five years at the National Security Agency. He retired in 2008 as a service tech. supervisor, at Starcraft R.V., after 30 years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, and radio controlled airplanes and boats. Friends may call from 2 to 4, and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 1:00 p.m. funeral service is planned for Tuesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Alan Griffin, of the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Cancer Society of Elkhart County.
