Ivan “Brent” Rheinheimer, 75, of Goshen, died Friday, February 21, 2025, at Waterford Crossing Health Campus after a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 2, 1950, in Goshe, to Ivan and Audra F. (Tope) Rheinheimer.
On May 20, 2005, he married Jane Robinson.
She survives along with children, Ryan (Taryn) Bergman, Neil (Heather) Bergman, both of Goshen, and Carrie (Brandon) Eakins of Union, Michigan; seven grandchildren; Camden (Lexi) Bergman, Brady Bergman, Parker Bergman, Jacob Eakins, Emilee (Luke Erekson) Eakins, Kassidy Bergman, Caleb Bergman, and one great grandson, Graham Erekson.
Also a sister, Brenda (Dan) Bowers, of Middlebury, and her children nephew Darby (Marci) Toler of Houston, TX, and niece Deitra (Lavern) Yoder of Middlebury. Also their children Kirin and Gavin Toler, Brittani and Logan Staley, and Aaron and Carmen Yoder.
Also surviving are special friends Fred and Patty Hart, New Palestine and Godchildren, Austin and Tete.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter Macy Bergman.
A U.S. Army veteran, Brent was a member of The American Legion and Honor Guard and attended Saint James Episcopal Church. He worked as a sales representative for 3M in their medical and surgical division. Following his work there, he was self-employed in agriculture sales.
One of Brent’s proudest accomplishments was earning the title of Eagle Scout. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, and reading. He cherished attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events, finding great joy in supporting their achievements. He especially enjoyed the family Christmas vacations in Florida. While living in Kansas City, Brent became an avid Chiefs and Royals fan, never missing a game.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 26, at 4 p.m. with two hours of visitation prior, beginning at 2 p.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Saint James Episcopal Church or Lewy Body Dementia research.
