Iva Rosemary Hawn

Iva Rosemary Hawn, 92, died Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at The Waters of Wakarusa.

She was born March 3, 1932 in Goshen.

She is survived by a daughter, Penny (Terry) Reed of Goshen; and adoptive son, Jerry Lee Hawn of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Matt (Crystal) Borden, Samantha Ann (Brian) Spencer, Zac Hawn, Kaylee Hawn; two great-grandchildren, Carl Lemon and Alle (Boomer) Lantz; a great-great grandchild, Quinn Rose Lantz; and a brother, William (Ruth) Alfrey.

Iva was preceded in death by her father, Emerson Alfrey; mother, Edna L. (Shannon) Simmons; husband, William Hawn; grandchild, Mark Alan Borden; and three siblings, Guy Alfrey, Beverly Hawn and Janet Firestone.

Iva was known for her delicious cooking skills, especially her home-made cinnamon rolls and beef and noodles. She worked as a breakfast attendant in the Hospitality industry. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and going fishing whenever possible.

A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11 a.m. at New Paris Cemetery. Pastor Todd Prough will officiate.
