Isabelle E. Rogers Dunafin

Isabelle E. Rogers Dunafin, 93, of Goshen, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born September 22, 1923 in Nappanee to Henry and Beulah (Hall) Pletcher.

On November 16, 1941 she married Clyde M. Rogers in Nappanee.  He died December 8, 1984.  She later married Gerald Dunafin, October 9, 2004.  He died December 6, 2007.

She is survived by two daughters, Marietta (Wayne) Snapp of Allen, Texas and Connie Samuels of Niles, Michigan; a son, Richard (Cindy) Rogers of Nappanee; a step-son, Stephen Dunafin; and a step-daughter, Nancy Deckard, both of Michigan; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Minerva Williams of Mesa, Arizona and Mary Alice Behling of South Elgin, Illinois.

Along with her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Rogers, and a brother, LaMar Pletcher.

Isabelle was a 1941 graduate of Nappanee High School.  She farmed with her husband, Clyde and worked as a cook at Nappanee East Side School for almost 20 years.  She also was the head of the card and gift department at Thornburg Drug Store, Nappanee before retiring in 1988. She continued to be active volunteering at the Nappanee Public Library.

A former member of Nappanee Church of the Brethren, she was a life deaconess at Turkey Creek Church of the Brethren where she also sang in the choir.  She was currently a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren.

Friends may call Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen where a 10 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 funeral will be conducted.  Rev. Bev Weaver will officiate.

Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.
