Iris Hazel Dills, 92, died early Monday morning, July 19, 2010, at her home in Goshen. She has lived in Elkhart County her whole life. She was born on August 22, 1917 to the late John and Cora (Kindy) Hershberger, in Bristol. On March 31, 1933, she married Clare C. Dills, he preceded her in death on December 15, 1963. A homemaker, Mrs. Dills belonged to the Gospel Lighthouse Church. She volunteered for the Salvation Army, and in 2002 was a candidate for the Senior Fair Queen. She is survived by three sons, John Dills, Michael Dills, William (Frances) Dills, all of Goshen; seven daughters, Kitty Fink, Nappanee, Anna (Robert) Falconi, Maryland, Mary (Jonas) Miller, Elkhart, Betty (Don) Dirck, Joy Moles, Bonnie (Robert) Null, all three of Goshen, Carol Moles, North Carolina; one brother, Roland Hershberger, Goshen; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Dills; one daughter, Janet Dills; four sisters, Lila Schrock, Beulah Hershberger, Betty Hershberger, Iva Weaver; and three brothers, Albert, Harold, and John Hershberger. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home; Pastor James Hostetler of the Family Worship Center at the Lighthouse will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
