Irene Elliott, 77, of Goshen, died Saturday afternoon, February 25, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born October 29, 1928, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Ray and Erma (Stauffer) Weldy. On July 7, 1948, in Angola she married Robert W. “Bud” Miller. He died April 16, 1984. On June 27, 1986, in New Paris, she married William H. Elliott. He died May 18, 1995. A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Elliott worked, for 27 years, as a credit assistant at Gemeinhardt in Elkhart, until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the New Paris Missionary Church. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Miller of Goshen and Connie Young of Omaha, Nebraska; a step-daughter, Janet (Rick) Clark of Goshen; and two step-sons, John (Janet) Elliott and Jack (Jane) Elliott, both of Goshen. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Roma (Gerald) Wilson of Goshen, and a brother, Harry (Mary Lou) Weldy of Venice, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a step-son, Jim Elliott and two brothers, Lewis and Dewey Weldy. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 2, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. A 10:00 a.m., service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2006, at the New Paris Missionary Church. Pastor David Hackney and former pastor, Rev. George Swank will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee. Memorials may be made to the New Paris Missionary Church.
