Ida M. Lawrence

Ida M. Lawrence, 101, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Greencroft Healthcare after a brief illness. She was born October 3, 1921 in Richmond, Virginia to Lorenzo and Ottavia (Pieroni) Uliana.

On September 18, 1943, she married Lyell Lawrence in Florence, South Carolina.  The family lived in Virginia until 1962, and then built a home next to the Lawrence family farm in Bristol, Indiana.

Ida worked in the credit department of Sears & Roebuck in Virginia prior to moving to Indiana.  She then worked for Sears in South Bend, and Parkwood Homes in Bristol prior to retirement.   She also assisted her husband in his photography studio.

Ida is survived by three daughters, Linda Eaton, Phoenix, Arizona, Patricia (William) Yoder, Goshen, and Diane (Daniel) Topolski, Constantine, Michigan; six grandchildren, Traci Eaton, Phoenix, Kim (Mark) Soncarty, Middlebury, Kristin (Robb) Huber, Goshen, Josh (Alicia) Topolski, San Francisco, Justin (Smita) Topolski, San Francisco, and Aaron (Lana) Topolski, Constantine Michigan; nine great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; sister-in- law Mary Branum, and nieces and nephews.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Lyell, son-in-law, Dennis Eaton, sister Lena Wymer, and great-great grandson Thomas Jeremy.

Ida was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bristol. She was a lovely lady with a ready smile, always welcoming people into her home for a visit.  A good cook, she loved to bake cookies and share them with family and friends.

There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
