Hoyte E. "Buck" Jewell, 61, of Millersburg passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, July 6, 2012, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He was born April 19, 1951 in Greenville, Michigan to Jack and Laura (Orvis) Jewell. He married Karen Stutsman May 14, 2005 in Millersburg. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Todd (Delores) Jewell of Sheridan, Michigan and Travis Jewell of Greenville, Michigan; two step-daughters, Rhonda Haney and Beth Hochstetler, both of Millersburg, his mother, Laura Jewell of Belding, Michigan; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Cindy Green of Belding, Michigan; and three brothers, James (Marlene) Jewell of Millersburg, Royal (Sharon) Jewell of Morley, Michigan, and Earl (Tess) Jewell of Belding, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father. An area resident since 2001, Buck worked as a machine operator at Goshen Die Cutting for a number of years. He was a past American Legion SAL Commander of Millersburg Post #484. A typical "shade-tree mechanic", he enjoyed tinkering with small engines and motors. He also enjoyed singing country western karaoke. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Dan Sickels, Zion Church, Portland, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to IU Goshen Cancer Center.
