Howard William Davis

September 17, 1943 — January 3, 2016

Howard W. Davis, 72, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday morning, January 3, 2016, at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center.

He was born September 17, 1943 in Goshen to Ernest and Anna (Whirledge) Davis. He was adopted by his uncle, Leonard and Mary Davis.

On December 31, 1964 he married Sue Plank. She died May 28, 2011.

He is survived by three sons, Leonard (Tina) Davis, Howard (Jackie) Davis II and Dana (Dawn) Davis, all of Goshen; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie (Duane) Bollinger of Goshen and Rose (Danny) Kehr; and two brothers, Rex (Melody) Johns of Benton and Richard Mehl Davis of Michigan City.

He was preceded in death by all his parents; an infant son, Michael Davis; a grandson, Thomas Davis; and three brothers, Ernest, Paul and George Davis.

A lifetime Goshen resident, Mr. Davis worked to Elkhart County Highway Department for more than 30 years.

Friends may call Wednesday, January 6, 2016, from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Jason Kincaid of First Assembly of god Church will officiate.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.
