Houston Looney, 79, of Goshen, died at his home Tuesday morning, August 30, 2011. He was born February 28, 1932 in Lepanto, Arkansas to the late Edgar and Lillie (Collins) Looney. He married Bertha M. (Bainter) Chupp on October 4, 1985 in Goshen. She died November 16, 2010. He is survived by three daughters, Debra (Earl) Bledsoe of Van Wert, Ohio, Pamela Santiago of Champaign, Illinois, and Cathy Vance of Gibson City, Illinois; two sons, Randy H. Looney of Goshen, and Jeff (Deb) Looney of Wichita, Kansas; two step-sons, Larry D. (Dianna) Chupp of Valparaiso and Steven (Gladys) Chupp of Goshen; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Linville of Elkhart; and a brother, Alfred (Joan) Looney of Benton. He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Looney; five sisters, Frances Reynolds, Flossie Marie Looney, Mary Ruth Linville and Alma Moore; and four brothers, Dwight, Glendale, Henry and Dalton Looney. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 2, and 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, September 3, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Kincaid, Assembly of God Church, Goshen, officiating. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Center for Cancer Care Goshen.
