Herman Burdette Hall

Herman Burdette Hall, 90, of Goshen, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at Greencroft Healthcare.

He was born on Jan. 31, 1928 in Nappanee to Guy and Susie Mariah (Hoffer) Hall.

He married Donna B. Anglin, Jeanette Clouse, and most recently on Sept. 8, 2007 he married Doris (Birky) Hook.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Jean (Robert) Kline, Bremen; sons, Ronald G. (Dawn) Hall, Fairport, New York, Christopher S. Hall, Syracuse; stepson, Dana J. (Stephanie) Hook, Dickinson, North Dakota; stepdaughter, Dawn (Troy) Brake, Noblesville; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters, La Fern Kiefer, Doris Wagner and Mary Alice Hartzell; and brothers, Glen, Donivan, Richard, Dewey & Lyle Hall.

He was a 1946 graduate of Nappanee High School where he was known as “Mr. Basketball.”  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948.

He was a member of LifePoint Church where he taught Sunday School and was involved in visiting those who were ill. He enjoyed raising flowers and doing puzzles and will be remembered as a man who both loved the Lord and loved his family.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Meetinghouse at Greencroft. A memorial service is planned for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at LifePoint Church. Pastor Troy Scott will officiate.

Entombment will be at Rice Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice or LifePoint Church.
