Henry Looney, 63, of Goshen, died Saturday evening, March 18, 2006, at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born December 21, 1942, in Wilson, Arkansas, to Edward and Lilly (Collins) Looney. On March 21, 1981, he married Nira “Sue” Springer, in Goshen. She survives. A long time resident of the Goshen area, Mr. Looney had worked in food service at Oaklawn. He had also worked as an electrician in the RV industry. A member of the Pentecostal Church, Mr. Looney had an Easter tradition of putting together Easter Bags for the children at Oaklawn. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sherry (Daniel) Hrynewycz of Denver, Colorado; three sons, Marty (Millie) Looney of Elkhart, Robert (Romanna) Looney of Denver, Colorado, and Mark Looney of Elkhart; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Alma Moore of Hardy, Arkansas and Joyce Linville of Elkhart, Indiana; and three brothers, Dalton (Beth) Looney of Rome City, Indiana, Houston (Bertha) Looney of Goshen, Indiana, and Alfred (JoAnne) Looney of Benton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa Marie Looney. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m, Tuesday, March 21, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Oaklawn Chaplain Robert Shreiner will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oaklawn Foundation or United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
