Henry L. Kilmer, 98, of Syracuse, died at his home early Tuesday morning, March 31, 2015. He was born August 9, 1916 in Elkhart to Rufus and Fanny (Ernest) Kilmer. On December 24, 1938 he married Dorothea M. Mullen in Elkhart. She died May 3, 2003. Surviving is a daughter, Zelma M. Folger, of Syracuse; daughter-in-law, Sally Kilmer, of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Henry was also preceded in death by a son, LaMar Kilmer and nine brothers and sisters. He was a lifelong area resident and former member of Syracuse Church of the Brethren, more recently attending People's Bible Church, Benton. He worked in quality control for Liberty Homes for 30 years. After retirement he did maintenance work for Oakwood Park. Friends may call on Friday from 2 p.m. until the 5 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Rev. John Randolph of People's Bible Church will officiate. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at New Paris Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Goshen Home Care & Hospice or People's Bible Church.
