Henry C. Brubaker, Jr.

Henry C. Brubaker, Jr., 64, of Bristol, died Wednesday morning, November 9, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital after being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer 10 days ago. He was born December 13, 1946, in Goshen to Henry and Phoebe Mae (Mater) Brubaker, Sr. He married Diane Mabie on April 1, 1969 at the Osolo Missionary Church, Elkhart. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Yolanda (David) Eli of Elkhart; a son, Jared B. (Jacque) Brubaker of San Diego, California; two grandchildren, David and Alli Eli; and a brother from another mother, Jim Sawyer, Elkhart. He was preceded in death by a son, Craig in 1977 and Aunt Florence and Uncle Tom VanDiepenbos. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Brubaker graduated from Goshen High School in 1965. He worked at Syndicate Systems, Middlebury in building maintenance. An avid NASCAR and Notre Dame fan, he enjoyed gardening, going to gun shows with his grandson, and his wood shop. He loved his dog, Sonny. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 6:30 p.m. funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Robert Eby will officiate. Following cremation, burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or IU Goshen Health Cancer Center.
