Helen B. Smith

Helen B. Smith, 96, died Tuesday morning, October 12, 2010 at Goshen General Hospital.  She was born on March 1, 1914 to the late Al and Murl (Gonderman) Foltz, in Paulding, Ohio.  On September 19, 1933, she married Arthur W. Smith in Paulding, Ohio, the couple moved to Goshen in 1942.  Arthur preceded her in death on June 21, 1967. Mrs. Smith was employed by Penn Controls for over 20 years and she was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 60 years.  She is survived by two sons, C. Wesley Smith, Foley, Ala., Douglas R. Smith, White Pigeon, Mich.; three grandchildren, Lori Smith Horowitz, Evanston Ill., Bradley W. Smith, Greenleaf, Wis., Christy Cottingham, Spring Arbor, Mich.; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Foltz, Orland, Ind.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Elderbusch; and two brothers, Carl and Earl Foltz.  Friends may call from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 11 a.m., also at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Ed Fritz from First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to First United Methodist Church.
