Helen Marie Howard

Helen Marie Howard, 66, of Middlebury, died early Monday morning, October 19, 2009, at her home.  She had been ill the past three years. She was born in Summan, Indiana, on November 3, 1943 to the late Carl and Eva (Huddleson) Wissman.  She married Kenneth G. Howard on February 1, 1961, in Ripley County, Indiana.  He survives. Also surviving are three sons, Steven L. (Lori) Hoard and Randy S. (Cindy) Howard, both of Goshen, and Jerry D. Howard of Middlebury; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Marie in 1963;and three brothers, Donald, Perry, and Willie Wissman. A bus driver for ADEC, Mrs. Howard had also worked for Goshen Rubber, Anderson Boling and Ivy Terrace.  She was a member of the Goshen Moose and AFL-CIO #650. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. William Steinke of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Middlebury, will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
