Helen E. Howard, 89, of Dowagiac, Michigan died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Miller’s Assisted Living.
She was born September 11, 1929 in Rockfield to Lewis and Dorothy (Arion) Pritts.
On May 4, 1963 she married Estel E. Howard in Goshen. He died September 16, 1994.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen (William) Meadows of Williamsburg, Kentucky and Melody Edington of Charleston, South Carolina; two sons, Ronald Smith of Edwardsburg, Michigan and Kenneth Howard of Kalamazoo, Michigan; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Belle Davis of Logansport; and two brothers, Thomas (Lorraine) Pritts and Edward Pritts, both of Burnettsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Fred and Thomas Smith, and a sister Anna May Hogrefe.
Mrs. Howard retired in 1991 from Homecrest Cabinetry after working more than 15 years as a sander. She also worked for I.X.L., Mogul Rubber and Triangle Rubber.
Helen was an avid Bingo player.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be conducted September 11, 2019 at one p.m. at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
