Helen Luella Hershberger

Helen Luella Hershberger, 73, of Goshen, died Friday evening, September 14, 2007, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born in Allen County, Indiana, on August 2, 1934, to the late Peter and Caroline (Lengacher) DeLagrange.  She married Paul Hershberger in the Pleasant Grove Mennonite Church, Goshen, on July 28, 1956.  He survives. A homemaker and longtime Goshen resident, Mrs. Hershberger was a member of the Pine Ridge Mennonite Church.  She was active in the sewing circles at both the Pine Ridge and Mount Joy Mennonite Churches.  She also enjoyed reading. She is survived by her husband, Paul; two daughters, Carol (Dan) Miller and Anita (Larry) Miller, both of Goshen; three sons, Kervin (Ruth) Hershberger, Lynn (Doreen) Hershberger and Jay (Letha) Hershberger, all of Middlebury; 16 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a step-brother, Andrew (Chris) Schrock of Canyonville, Oregon. She was preceded in death by infant twins, Ronnie and Connie, and one other infant; two sisters, Jean Kauffman and Phyllis Schrock; and an infant brother, Robert Lee DeLagrange. Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, September 16, and 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, September 17, at the funeral home; and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. A 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2007, funeral service will be conducted at the Mount Joy Mennonite Church.  Calvin Borntrager and Ben Shirk will officiate. Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Rosedale Bible College.
