Helen M. Grainger Miller

Helen Marie Grainger Miller, 89, of Port Orange, Florida and formerly of Goshen, died September 25, 2012, at Port Orange Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 6, 1922 in Madison, Wisconsin, to Michael and Margaret (Diebold) Faber. She married Gerald D. "Gerry" Grainger, October 12, 1946 in Madison, the former General Manager of WKAM Radio in Goshen. He died in 1980. She married Donald L. Miller in Goshen in November 1983. He died in 2003. She is survived by her three children, two daughters, Patricia (Robert) Tyler of Port Orange, Florida and Kathryn (Ira) Stahl of Goshen; a son, Sean (Cheryl) Grainger of West Palm Beach, Florida; three stepchildren, Calvin (Barb) Miller of Marietta, Georgia, Jonathan (Deb) Miller of South Bend and Steven Miller; four grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Olive Roberts and Patricia Orvis, both of Madison, Wisconsin, and a brother Robert E. Faber of Verona, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Lang; a brother, Paul Faber; and two nephews. Helen was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Maplecrest Country Club and MCC Ladies Association, Elkhearts and Delta Theta Tau Sorority. A homemaker, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends, including her Red Hat friends. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice or Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia Flagler, where she volunteered for many years.
