Hazel B. Rarick, 98, of Goshen died Wednesday evening, February 22, 2017 at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born April 28, 1918, in Milford to Chauncy and Bertha (Ulery) Weybright.
On Feb. 27, 1937, she married Dane W. Rarick in New Paris. He died June 11, 1991.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet (George) Lightner of Troy, Ohio; two sons, Gene (Barbara) Rarick of New Paris and Max (Jeanette) Rarick of Bremen; eight grandchildren, Jonel (Bill) Fawley, Risa (Richard) Halpin, Phil (Loretta) Rarick, Lynette (Bill) Heath, Todd (Robin) Lightner, Kurt Lightner, Mike (Monica) Rarick and Alyssa Rarick; 10 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Mock.
Hazel was a 1936 graduate of Milford High School and member of New Salem Church of the Brethren. She was a co-owner of Rarick’s Hilltop Orchard for 45 years. During this time she helped to found the Kosciusko County Farmers Market in Warsaw.
Friends may call Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Yoder will officiate.
Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery, Milford.
