Hazel L. Looney, 79, of Goshen, died early Monday morning, December 17, 2007, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing, Goshen. She was born in Colts, Arkansas, on June 20, 1928, to the late John Warner and Dovey Odel (Hopper) Moore.  A Goshen resident since 1952, Mrs. Looney worked at Sunshine Caterer’s as a baker and cook for four years.  She had also worked at Switches and American Laundry. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Missionary Church. She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie (Jud) Flowers of McAllen, Texas, and A. Janette Yoder of Goshen; five sons, James D. Looney, William H. Looney and Luke R. Looney, all of Goshen, John M. Looney of Atwood and Jerry L. Looney of Plymouth; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Syble Beard of Bellflower, Illinois. She was preceded in death by a son, Henry Allen Looney in 1952; the father of her children, William D. Looney; a brother, Aaron “Matt” B. Moore; a sister, Dorothy Mae Howard; a son-in-law, Dean Yoder and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Irvin Looney. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 21, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 22, 2007, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Bill Greenhood will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
