Harvey J. Mishler

Harvey J. Mishler, 89, died early Tuesday morning, February 24, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital.  He was born on December 15, 1919, in Nappanee, IN, to John and Emma (Schmucker) Mishler. He was married to Leatha E. Miller on November 13, 1941, in Nappanee, IN. She died on March 31, 2007. He has been living in the Goshen area since 1949.  Harvey was a retired farmer and fee mill employee having worked at Bristol Feed Mill in Bristol, Pine Manor in Goshen, and Nappanee Milling in Nappanee. He was a member of Fairhaven Mennonite Church. He is survived by four daughters, Arlene Hershberger of Elkhart, Sharon (Verton) Coblentz of Goshen, Betty (Joe) Borkholder of Goshen, and Carolyn (Enos) Yoder of Middlebury; Four sons, LaMar Mishler of Goshen, Samuel (Roberta) Mishler of Syracuse, Stephen Mishler of Plymouth, and Wayne (Mary Ellen) Mishler of Goshen; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe (Mary) Mishler of Ft. Wayne, John Mishler of Goshen, and Mose (Freida) Mishler of Seymour, Missouri. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Lambright, Elizabeth Mishler, and Katie Maust; and two brothers, Daniel and Samuel Mishler. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m.on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the Fairhaven Mennonite Church. A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2009, at the Fairhaven Mennonite Church. Rev. Wilbur Yoder, Rev. Harvey Miller, and Rev. Dan Miller all of Fairhaven Mennonite Church will be officiating. Burial will be at Thomas Cemetery in Goshen. Memorials may be made out to the Fairhaven Mennonite Church.
