Harvey E. Hansen, 84, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at The Laurels after a brief illness.

He was born August 2, 1939, in Clarion, Iowa to Howard and Geraldine (Duitscher) Hansen.

On August 26, 1960 he married Shirley K. Stewart in Webster City, Iowa.

She survives along with three children, Kimberly (Paul) Landry of Commerce, Michigan, Douglas (Connie) Hansen of Syracuse and Scott Hansen of Indianapolis; ten grandchildren, Beth, Heather, Amanda, Adrian, Nathan, Spencer, Genika, Tyler, Carrie and Carl; seven great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Frances (Michael) Johnson of Baraboo, Wisconsin and Daryl (Cheryl) Hansen of Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven and a brother, Roger.

A Goshen resident since 1976, Harvey was a salesman for Cargill Seed for 30 years.  He also worked as Building and Grounds Manager for Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds, Banquet Manager for the Goshen Holiday Inn; commercial realtor for ReMax and in his retirement at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home for more than 20 years.

Harvey was an active member of Goshen First Church and the Elkhart County Morning Exchange Club where he served for more than 47 years and longtime volunteer for the Goshen Hospital Auxiliary.  Harvey also served on the boards of Goshen Boys and Girls Club, Goshen Chamber of Commerce; Crystal Valley Tourism and Spring Brooke.  He served 12 years with the National Guard.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2023, and Saturday from 12 until the 1 p.m., funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Diana Siegel will officiate.

Burial will be in Violett Cemetery.
