Harvey S. Borntrager, 72, of Goshen, died Wednesday morning, December 18, 2013, after a traffic accident on U.S. 20 in LaGrange County. He was born August 30, 1941 in Fairbanks, Iowa to Clemens and Polly (Schrock) Borntrager. He married Lydia (Weaver) Yoder March 28, 1997. She survives along with his six children, Fannie Borntrager of Oregon, Wisconsin, Leroy and Raymond (Tracy) Borntrager, both of Waupaca, Wisconsin, Harley (Sherry) and William (Jen) Borntrager, both of Bristol, and Rose (Merv) Yoder of Goshen; two step-daughters, Wanda (Dave) Buck of Middlebury and Darlene Morehouse of Goshen; 17 grandchildren; and four sisters, Elizabeth Miller, Mary (Henry) Miller and Susie (Clarence) Miller, all of Wisconsin and Ella (Levi) Miller of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lydia Miller and a step-son, Kevin Yoder. An area resident since 1993, Mr. Borntrager worked at Wieland Design for 16 years, retiring two weeks ago. He had a machine shop, Borntrager Machine, at home. He was a member of Church of Christ, Goshen. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2013, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013, funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Brad Price, Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Church of Christ.
