Harold E. Stark, 82, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, January 3, 2010, at Avalon Village in Ligonier where he had been a patient since September 10, 2009. He had been in failing health the past six months. He was born in Goshen, on January 16, 1927 to the late Roy Ernest and Mable Florence (Gay) Stark. He married Lenora Mishler on June 29, 1952 in Bristol. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Tom) Conrad of Goshen; a son, Richard (Rebecca) Stark of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Susan (Joe) Miller of Goshen, Ellen (Matt) Thimons of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Joshua William Stark of Houston, Texas; a sister, Evelyn Dennison of LaPorte, Indiana; and a brother, Glenn Stark of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by a five month old sister, Elizabeth and a brother, Robert Stark. A lifelong Goshen resident, Mr. Stark graduated from Goshen High School in 1944 and from Butler College in 1947. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Goshen; a 50 year member of the Goshen Masonic Lodge #12 and the South Bend Valley Scottish Rite. He was a former member of Maplecrest Country Club. Mr. Stark served in the US Army during the Korean War. A pharmacist, Mr. Stark was a partner in Stark & Weaver Rexall Drugs in downtown Goshen until selling it in 1971. He retired from Park Pharmacy in 1989. Friends may call 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church, Goshen, where an 11:00 a.m., memorial service will be conducted. Pamela Kling, Pastoral Assistant will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
