Harold Thomas Nesbitt, 86, of Goshen, died Monday afternoon, October 12, 2009, at his home from natural causes. He was born in Wawaka, Indiana, on January 2, 1923, to the late Claude and Bessie (Wygent) Nesbitt. He married Eleanor J. Bickel on June 29, 1946. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2004. Mr. Nesbitt worked for Starcraft for 25 years. He served during World War II with the US Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Goshen Moose Lodge. He is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Tucker and her friend, Darrell Gruntrum of Elkhart; a son, Michael (Cathy) Nesbitt of Goshen; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; and four brothers, A. Delbert, Donald, Berton and Melvin Nesbitt. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Friends and family will meet at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen, at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 15, 2009, for a graveside service with military honors. Pastor Jim Shrock will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
