Harold “Curly” N. Schmucker, Sr., 73, pf Goshen, died Sunday, October 13, 2019, at home after an extended illness.
He was born February 4, 1946 in Peru to Noah and Lizzie (Miller) Schmucker.
On August 31, 1966 he married Dolores “Dee” Foster in Matawan, New Jersey.
She survives along with two sons, Harold N. (Angie) Schmucker, Jr. and Michael H. (Tina) Schmucker, both of Goshen; four grandchildren, Hayden, Derick, Carter and Ella; a great-grandson, Remington and two siblings, Jake (Edna) Schmucker of Middlebury and Lydia (Steve) McBride of Whiteville, North Carolina.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Dee Schmucker in 1967 and a sister, Beulah Otto.
Mr. Schmucker served with the US Marines during the Cuban crisis from 1963 to 1968.
He was a member of the Syracuse Baptist Church and volunteered with Gideons International. He was owner of Schmucker Heating and Air Conditioning from 1972 to 1997 when he transferred the business to his sons, the current owners.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 17, 2019, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Bushong, Syracuse Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery, Goshen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Syracuse Baptist Church Building Fund.
