Harold K. Cripe, 88, of Goshen, died at 1:10 a.m., on Sunday November 19, at Waterford Crossing Healthcare in Goshen.
He was born on May 8, 1935, in Harrison Township, Elkhart County to Merrill and Myrtle Cripe.
On June 24, 1956, in West Goshen Church, he married Sherrill A. Mishler. She survives along with three children, Randall (Beth) Cripe of Goshen, Linda (Donny) LeBlanc of Akins, South Carolina, and Steve (Mary) Cripe of Middlebury, plus six grandchildren and three great granddaughters.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Miller, and a granddaughter, Cami Cripe.
Harold was a lifelong member at the West Goshen Church and actively participated and volunteered at many church events.
Harold worked at an auto repair shop in Elkhart for 41 years and managed the alignment and frame shop for 38 years, doing over 30,000 alignments. Harold enjoyed riding motorcycles and watching races, especially NASCAR. He also enjoyed woodworking, collecting toy trucks and cars, and feeding and watching the birds, rabbits, and squirrels in his later years. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching sporting events of his children and grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service at West Goshen Church.
A private family burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the West Goshen Church or Center for Hospice Care of Elkhart County.
