Harmon C. Hughes

Harmon C. Hughes, 92, of New Paris died Friday, March 27, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.

He was born October 23, 1927 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Curtis and Ruth (Bevvins) Hughes.

On February 5, 1977 he married Phyllis (Condon) Holtman.

She survives along with three children, Spring Hughes of New Paris, Dennis Hughes of Maryland and Robyn Hughes of Iowa; three grandchildren; a half sister, Sandra McBride, Three Rivers, Michigan; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Kathleen (Hughes) Dyer; a twin brother, Harry Hughes; a sister, Mona Rasegan; and four half brothers, Larry, Patrick, William and Jerry Hughes.

Mr. Hughes was a long-time night assistant at Greencroft Central Manor, now known as Evergreen Place.  He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid University of Michigan fan.  He also enjoyed playing slot machines at casinos and spending time with family.

According to Harmon’s wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen.
