Harley J Yoder

Harley J Yoder, 88, of Goshen, passed away, Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Avalon Village, Ligonier, where he was recently admitted.

He was born December 14, 1933 in Hutchinson, Kansas to John I and Edna (Yoder) Yoder.

In 1955, he married Barbara Weirich, who preceded him in death in 2000. He later married Anna Sue Troyer in 2004. She died in 2019.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (David) Faulkner of Goshen and Sandra (Troy) Snider of Milford; a son, Dewayne (Brenda) Yoder of Goshen; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Crystal Brewster; three sisters, Anna Beachy, Elizabeth Yoder and Mary Petersheim; and five brothers, Levi, Enos, Andy, Amos and Moses Yoder.

Harley was a Hall of Fame owner, trainer and driver in the Harness Racing industry. He was a past President of the Elkhart County Trotting and Pacing Horse Association. Harley was a lifelong member of the United States Trotting Association and the Indiana Standard Bred Association

Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. There will also be visitation on Friday, February 11, beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Pastor Rich Troyer, former pastor at Middlebury Church of the Brethren, will officiate.

Burial will follow at Ivan Cemetery, Middlebury.
